Shelby County mom expected in court next week

Prosecutors in Shelby County have asked a judge to require an Alabaster mother to undergo random drug and alcohol screenings.{}Sommer Wilford is charged with reckless murder in the death of her son, Jayden Brodie Allen. His body was found in a burnt car that crashed on Kent Dairy Road on February 28,2014.{} Wilford was not hurt. According to new court documents, prosecutors say she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash. Prosecutors say Wilford poses a real danger to herself and others. Wilford is out of jail on a $30,000 bond. The judge has set a hearing in the matter for April 29, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.
