Sheriff: Missing Cullman County teen found near Smith Lake

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. -- Authorities have found the body of 18-year-old Billy Ray Wren, who was reported missing earlier this week, Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey confirmed to ABC 33/40.Wren, who was last seen near Hired Hand on the morning of Apr. 21, was found around 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Lick Creek near Smith Lake. According to Rainey, the body was found by a boater, who alerted law enforcement of the discovery. Wren's cause of death is unknown at this time as investigators await the results of an autopsy, which will be performed at the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville.ABC 33/40 will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information is made available.
