Sherman Heights man arrested in relation to body found near Miles College
An arrest has been made in the homicide investigation of Nathaniel Williams, Jr.
Thursday evening, the suspect turned himself in at the Fairfield Police Department. In his taped confession, the suspect, a resident of the Sherman Heights area of Birmingham, admitted that he shot and killed Mr. Williams around 8:30pm Wednesday night while they sat in Williams vehicle. This took place in front of Williams residence at 320 Oakmont Street. He then drove the vehicle from Birmingham to Fairfield where he placed the body. He then drove the vehicle and weapons used to Selma, where he tried to hide and destroy evidence.
The vehicle has been recovered and a search is underway for the weapon(s).
