Sherrie Evans

Sherrie Evans joined ABC 3340 in March 2012 and is excited to be reporting in the Magic City. This is her second time calling Birmingham home, having lived and worked here about 10 years ago. {}Sherrie moved to Birmingham from Bristol, Virginia where she anchored the weekend newscasts and reported for both the NBC and FOX affiliates.{} Her love of news began long ago, though. Sherrie has wanted to be a journalist since elementary school.{} She started her career reporting for a cable station near Atlanta, Georgia where she also hosted an entertainment show and interviewed actors at movie junkets.From there, Sherrie spent a brief time covering stories in Birmingham before heading to the east coast. For several years, she covered news in Morehead City, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In 2005, she gave continuous coverage on Hurricane Ophelia making landfall near Morehead City. One of her favorite stories during her career has been reporting on the excavation of some historic cannons from Blackbeard's sunken pirate ship, "The Queen Anne's Revenge."Aside from covering stories, Sherrie loves to spend time with her husband, daughter and son.Sherrie enjoys hearing from viewers so please feel free to email any story ideas at sherriee@abc3340.
