Siegelman talks on his behalf
MONTGOMERY - AL —
Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman spoke on his behalf, Friday, at his resentencing hearing.
He said he has deep regret for his actions and he apologizes to the tax payers of Alabama and everyone who was affected by this case. He also said he regrets for letting his family down. He says, as a father, he has no greater wish than to have his children be proud of him.
Siegelman was very emotional, often crying during his testimony.
After Siegelman was finished talking, the United States started it's closing arguments. They are asking Judge Mark Fuller to not give in to the sentiment of the witnesses, and to solely base his sentence on the facts.
