Social media post delays sentencing for former teacher who pleaded guilty to rape, sodomy charges

{}CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. -- The sentencing of a former Thorsby High School teacher who pleaded guilty to rape and sodomy charges was delayed Thursday until August 7.Chilton County Circuit Court Judge John Bush made the decision after prosecutors filed a motion, claiming that, in May, McNeill posted a Facebook message that was "inconsistent with her guilty plea." Deputy Chief District Attorney C.J. Robinson said the post, which suggested innocence, was posted the day after she appeared in court.{}McNeill's attorney Angie Collins told Bush that her client sticks by her guilty plea. Collins also said McNeill denied making the post and believed members of the victim's family had her Facebook password and could have posted it.Bush gave Collins more time to investigate the source of the social media post.39-year-old Jennifer McNeill faces three counts of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree sodomy.{}ABC 33/40 is continuing to work on this story.More details to come.
