Civil Rights leaders plan protests over Voting Rights Act ruling

Civil rights leaders in Alabama are looking for ways to protest the Supreme Court decision to invalidate portions of the Voting Rights Act.They held a news conference about the ruling June 27th in Montgomery. {}State Senator Hank Sanders asked Alabama residents to take part in a recreation of the famous march on Washington. {}It will take place in August.Sanders also urged people to take part in local protests of the ruling.The chairman of the black wing of the Alabama Democratic Party wants to pressure the President to use appointment power to change the makeup of the nation's highest court. {}Joe Reed says one vote would have changed the outcome of the Voting Rights Act ruling.
