State serves search warrant at Center Stage Alabama

The State Attorney General and Houston County deputies served a search warrant Wednesday at Center Stage Alabama in Houston County.{} The warrant is the result of an ongoing investigation of illegal gambling operations at the facility in Cottonwood, Alabama, according to state officials.

{}"Today's actions are the culmination of an investigative process over the last several months," said Alabama Attorney General Strange. The search warrant culminated in the seizure of several hundred machines and an undisclosed amount of cash from Center Stage. The machines, along with the seized money, will be held as evidence.

Country Crossing casino was shutdown almost two years ago when the state removed of all gambling machines as part of an illegal gambling investigation. The casino, however, changed its name to Center Stage and reopened with new machines.{}
