BIRMINGHAM - AL —
Birmingham's youth were challenged to do all they can this summer to financially prepare themselves for their futures.
Mayor William Bell and Regions Bank executives-- kicked off "Summerquest."
It's a five week program. The idea, is to promote financial literacy and college readiness among Birmingham youth.
"The Summerquest programs give our students the opportunity to learn what it takes to navigate those financial waters," says Bell.
The program runs from June 12 to July 10. Students will earn "points" toward scholarships, cash and other prizes.
Any Birmingham City High School student that's interested should join the Summerquest Birmingham Facebook group, to sign up.
