Supermarket of benefits for veterans

Veterans in west Alabama will soon get some help and options when it comes to their care.{} A Supermarket of Veterans Benefits will be hosted by the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs and the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.{} It will be held Wednesday, March 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.{} With over 14,000 veterans residing in Tuscaloosa County, a large turnout is expected in the Sports Atrium inside the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center Campus. {}The supermarket of benefits is part of an outreach campaign to help the more than 420,000 Alabama Veterans, family members and survivors.{} There, they will receive valuable information about state, federal and non-governmental services and benefits that are designed specifically for them. {}In addition to state VA programs and benefits, the Tuscaloosa VA will have representatives on hand from the VA Home Based Primary Care; Homeless Program; OEF/OIF Combat Veterans Services; Women Veterans Program; Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership program for student Veterans, and much more.
