Suspect in Bessemer shooting in custody

Bessemer police say a 19-year-old wanted in connection with a shooting Sunday night turned himself.

Police were looking for Rashawn Hill. Investigators say on Sunday night, while in the area of 2500 Clarendon Avenue, officers heard gunshots approximately a block away. Officers were{} headed in the direction they believed the gunshots were coming from and found a black male in his 30's, walking on Carolina Avenue. He was bleeding, suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. The unidentified male was conscious and was able to talk to the officers and paramedics. He was taken to a local hospital. Investigators believe there is at least one other person involved in the shooting. They also believe the victim and the suspects knew each other. Hill is facing attempted murder charges.
