3 arrested for distribution of a controlled substance in Tuscaloosa

A 4-month-long investigation by the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force ended last week with the arrest of three suspects on drug distribution charges, Tuscaloosa police said.{}

Agents arrested two Tuscaloosa residents -- 35-year-old Chip Ervin and 28-year-old Andrea Harbin -- and a Northport man -- Jack Nathaniel Washburne III -- Friday afternoon, Jan. 17. Following their arrests, which were made at three different locations in a 20-minute period, recovered $9,000 worth of "high-grade" marijuana and $25,000 in cash.

According to a release, undercover agents made several purchases of the potent marijuana from the suspects during their investigation, which remains ongoing.

Ervin is charged with one count of first-degree possession of marijuana and one count of selling a controlled substance within three miles of a school. His bond was set at $45,000.

Harbin is charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and is being held on bonds totaling $30,000.

Washburne is charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of attempting to elude. His bond has been set at $20,000.

All three suspects are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
