Take your dog to work day

{}Friday is Take Your Dog To Work Day.{} It's an initiative that promotes pet adoption and the benefits of having pets in the workplace.{} Participating business can partner with local pet sitters, dog trainers, shelters, rescue groups and humane societies to educate employees about the importance of responsible pet ownership and adoption.One Birmingham-based business that always participates in the national holiday, is Big Communications.{} This year there are some new additions to their "TYDTWD" celebration.{} Ferocious Dogs and CahaBones to raise awareness, supplies and money for the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (GBHS).{} The hotdog stand, Ferocious Dogs, will park their hot dog cart outside of Big's office on 2nd Avenue North from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CahaBones, a local Birmingham business that specializes in all natural dog treats, will be there selling treats and offering samples. Both businesses will donate ten percent of their sales directly to GBHS.{} Anyone who checks out the happenings during that time will be given a commemorative tennis ball."Since Big was founded, we've always felt that a dog-friendly workplace creates an environment of creativity and camaraderie," says President John Montgomery. "This day is a fun way to celebrate the animals who bring so much to our lives and our work."Anyone who stops by will have the chance to visit with adoptable pets from GBHS. Representatives from the organization will be on-site answering questions about pet adoption, and employees from Big will be present to collect donations and supplies for GBHS.{}
