Teen accused in daycare sex abuse sentenced

A Jefferson County teen, convicted of sexually abusing two children at a daycare his mother worked at, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.{} Eric Lemont Higdon was sentenced Tuesday on two counts of sodomy.{} He was convicted in February for sexually abusing children at Momma's Place Christian Academy in Clay.{}

Investigators have said the children who accused Higdon of molesting them were between 3 and 5 years old.{} Higdon did not work at the daycare, but visited on a regular basis.{} His mother was fired from the daycare after the allegations rose.{}
