Teenager Charged In Home Invasion

A 19-year-old teenager is behind bars charged in a weekend home invasion.

Investigators responded to DCH early Saturday morning after learning a man had been shot in the leg. He was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. Minutes later, a 21-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. Investigators say Milton Prentice and the 19-year-old shooting victim had conflicting stories where he was shot. Investigators say the 21-year-old told officers two men tried to rob him at his house on 48th Street East and he fired shots at back at them.{} Investigators say they questioned Prentice and he confessed to going into the victim's apartment to try to rob him, the 21-year-old victim had a handgun and shot the other person with Prentice when they tried to force their way in.

Prentice is now facing attempted burglary and assault charges. The 21-year-old victim has been released from the hospital.

Police say there may be charges filed on the 19-year-old who was shot. He is in stable condition.
