A group of volunteer fighter pilots who fought the Japanese in the early 1940s met in Huntsville, Saturday, for their 72nd reunion.
They were "The Flying Tigers."
The group met at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. "The Flying Tigers" helped defend China from the Japanese just before the start of World War II. Even though they were outnumbered eight-to-one, "The Flying Tigers" were successful.
The surviving members of "The Flying Tigers" and their families have a reunion once a year.
The group was disbanded in July 1942 when the United States formally entered World War II.
