      This year's "See You at the Pole" is set for Wednesday, September 26

      The yearly day of student prayer, See Youat the Pole 2012 "Awaken", is scheduled for this Wednesday,September 26. Millions of teenagers across the world are inviting theirclassmates to gather around their school's flagpole for a time of prayer.

      Students will join together at their school's flagpole before school to pray for their friends, school, city, state, and nation. The emphasis this year is "Awaken", from Ephisians 3:14-21.

      "Paul's prayer in this passage isfor his friends to awaken to the endless possibilities of what only God can do,"said First Priority Greater Birmingham Executive Director Matt Wilson. "Paulcries for awakening. This year at See You at the Pole, pray for an unusual outpouring of the Spirit of God to awaken the heartsof students on campuses throughout your community and the world."

      This student-initiated, student-led movement started in 1990. It originated with one youth group, meeting at night atseveral schools in the community during a weekend retreat. It is estimated that 25,000-30,000 students acrossthe Greater Birmingham area will participate in See You at the Pole this year.
