Alabama pitcher Ray Castillo will be ready and available for work at this week's Tallahassee Regional tournament.
The Crimson Tide only used it's closer once in the SEC Tournament. Castillo helped Alabama beat Auburn on the first day of the tournament, but manager Mitch Gaspard told reporters the next day that the pitcher would not be available for the remainder of the week while he dealt with a sore shoulder.
The rest seemed to be just the remedy Castillo needed.
"Ray's actually good," Tide coach Mitch Gaspard told AL.com. "He actually would have been available Saturday. It's more precautionary than anything. He had a little soreness on Thursday, so we kind of backed it down."
Castillo has 11 saves this season. He was named to the SEC's All-Freshman team earlier this week.
Alabama plays Troy to start the Tallahassee Regional on Friday afternoon. Florida State and Savannah State are also in the regional field.
