Top 10 finalists for Ms. Nursing Home Alabama announced

The Alabama Nursing Home Association has announced the top 10 finalists for the annual Ms. Nursing Home Pageant. {}The event will be held at The Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover on Monday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m. {}A total of 69 nursing home residents have competed, and the winner will serve be the spokesperson for the ANHA."These 69 ladies are to be commended because they are wonderful ambassadors for their individual nursing home and Alabama's long-term care profession," ANHA President Richard Brockman said. "Each one captures the spirit of the Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant which is a celebration of life and of our nursing home residents' contributions to the lives of others."{}According to a news release by ANHA, Miss Alabama Chandler Champion will co-host the event, and Ms. Senior Alabama Niva Dorough will serve on the panel of celebrity judges. {}Other celebrity judges include Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation CEO Dr. Wes Smith, retired senior services manager Lee Sanders and Alagasco's Jackie Goggins.{}The top 10 are as follows. {}Each were judged on "their outlook on life, personality, poise and involvement in their individual nursing homes."

{}Judges will narrow down the field of 10 with an individual interview that morning of July 22 followed by the competition on stage that afternoon. {}The other 59 contestants make up the Honor Court. {}The pageant is free and open to the public.
