Tornado survivor gets new Habitat home

A tornado survivor in Alberta City is now a proud homeowner again.

Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa dedicated Dora Brunson's new home Friday.{} The mother of two grew up in Tuscaloosa.{} Her home was destroyed by the April 27th tornado.

Brunson's West Side Church of Christ family helped her get back on her feet, after the tornado hit, and she also received help from Alberta Baptist Church.{}

Brunson says she's grateful for this new start.{} She's also{}happy about some special features in her new house.{}{}"They showed me where we have a safe room. It makes me feel safe. But,{}I realize, no matter where you are, danger can happen. It does make us feel better and safer though," Brunson said.

The new home was built with additional support from Nick's Kids,{}the Episcopal Tornado Recovery Coalition{}and Give Tuscaloosa.{} The Food Bank of West Alabama came by, Friday, and stocked the pantry and fridge.
