In Alabama, as in every other state, it is not difficult to find drug abuse or crime associated with drug abuse. Thursday, the Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force will begin a discussion on how to address the problem.
The event will bring together state agencies, private citizens, lawmakers, private entities, law enforcement, businesses, treatment professionals, prosecutors, family specialists, those who are recovering addicts, and more for a public hearing and town hall.
It will take place in the Alabama State Capitol Auditorium from 2:00-4pm. The goal is for ADATF to develop a strategic approach and comprehensive solutions that will then be recommended in a written report to the state legislature.
