Fatal accident still causing delays on I65 in Fultondale

Traffic is backed up on Interstate 65 Southbound as DOT crews remove a sign bridge truss.{}

The truss, just after the Walkers Chapel Road exit in Fultondale, was damaged when a vehicle struck it Tuesday evening.{}

An electronic sign on the truss was removed Tuesday night.{}

Two people were killed in the accident.{} 61 year old James Earl Robinson and 65 year old Lois Coleman Robinson died when the vehicle they were in lost control, sped into the median and hit the truss.

A Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy was driving behind the vehicle when the accident happened.{} He told ABC 33/40 that the vehicle sped up just before the accident.{}

State Troopers are investigating.{} No word what may have caused the crash.
