      Train derailment in Talladega blocking entrances,exits to 2 neighborhoods

      A train derailment in Talladega has blocked the entrances and exits to two neighborhoods south of the city.

      According to Talladega police, seven rail cars derailed while the train was traveling northbound near Bemiston Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. There are no reports of injuries and police are not evacuating any of the nearby residents.

      Information regarding the contents of the rail cars was not immediately made available.

      It is unknown at this time what caused the derailment. ABC 33/40 has a crew en route to the scene, and we will provide more information as it is made available.
