Trial date set in Jemison stabbing death
JEMISON - AL —
A trial date has been set for a Columbiana man accused of stabbing another man to death. 33 year old Tommy Joe Ashworth, Jr. will go to trial June 9th.
In February, a grand jury indicted Ashworth for manslaughter in the death of 34 year old Jeremy Richard Brasher of Jemison.
Brasher was found stabbed in the chest and stomach on the 1000 block of County Road 152 in Jemison last fall.
Police say the men got into a verbal fight that escalated. Both had knives.
Ashworth remains in jail on a 150 thousand dollar bond.
