Trussville mortgage company owner sentenced


{} {} Authorities say a Trussville mortgage company owner has been sentenced to five months in prison for failing to file his federal income taxes over a five-year period.{} {} Officials in the U.S. Attorney's office say 54-year-old Don Walter Williams Jr. failed to file income taxes between 2005 and 2009. Authorities say Williams failed to file taxes on more than $830,000 worth of income.{} {} A judge ordered Williams to pay $196,700 in back taxes, plus penalties and interest, to the Internal Revenue Service. He was also sentenced to five months of home detention.{} {} Officials say Williams pleaded guilty to five counts of failure to file income tax returns in July, and will report to prison Jan. 16.
