Tuscaloosa County postpones siren test

The Tuscaloosa Emergency Management Agency will postpone the Wednesday, January 9, 2013, test of its Outdoor Warning Siren System.

Director David Hartin says they have rescheduled it due to a 90% chance of rain tomorrow. {}Instead, Tuscaloosa EMA will test that siren on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. {}If conditions once again prohibit the rescheduled test, Hartin says they will reschedule for the next acceptable Wednesday.

As a reminder, Hartin says "the most effective way to receive an emergency alert is with a NOAA Weather Radio." {}They can be programmed to receive watches and warnings for one or more counties. {}He adds they are "inexpensive and... would make a wonderful gift."
