Tuscaloosa Drowning Victim Identified

Tuscaloosa police have identified the teenager who drowned Sunday in a lake.

Investigators say 14-year-old Jaylen Davis-Williams died. Investigators were called to the area of New Asia Road with Coaling Police in regards to a juvenile drowning. Investigators say Davis-Williams and another teenager located a boat and pushed it offshore. The boat had no paddle and two teenagers began using their hands to guide the boat back to shore. The two jumped from the boat and tried to swim to shore. One of the teenagers made it back.

Davis-Williams was located nearly 15-20 feet from the shore. Investigators say there were no signs of foul play. It appears to be an accidental drowning.
