Tuscaloosa eyes temporary ban on some businesses

Tuscaloosa officials are considering a temporary ban on businesses that some consider undesirable.{} The idea is being discussed in the wake of Northport's recent move to temporarily ban some businesses.{} Supporters say a temporary ban would give Tuscaloosa time to study the effect certain businesses have on their surrounding area.{} Tuscaloosa City Attorney, Tim Nunnally, is composing multiple drafts of a moratorium that would halt the construction and relocation of tattoo parlors, check-cashing businesses and pawn shops.{} The Tuscaloosa City Council is expected to consider the measure next week.{} If approved, Tuscaloosa's measure would be similar to the moratorium adopted by Northport.
