Tuscaloosa man arrested on charges of rape, incest

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Tuscaloosa police have arrested a man on charges of rape and incest of a 14-year-old family member.

Youth Aid Division investigators received information in June of a sexual abuse case that had possibly been occurring since 2011. With help from the victim, authorities gathered enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant.

Danny Williams was arrested and charged with second-degree rape and incest, which is a Class C felony in Alabama. He is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $45,000 bond.

Information regarding the specific relationship between the victim and Williams has not been made available at this time.{}

According to state law, a person commits incest if he marries or engages in sexual intercourse with a person he knows to be, either legitimately or illegitimately:

(1) His ancestor or descendant by blood or adoption; or

(2) His brother or sister of the whole or half-blood or by adoption; or

(3) His stepchild or stepparent, while the marriage creating the relationship exists; or

(4) His aunt, uncle, nephew or niece of the whole or half-blood.
