Tuscaloosa man arrested for crystal meth

Police say a hotel staff alerted them to a 35-year-old suspect.

Police were called to 4300 block of East Skyland Boulevard Monday morning after hotel staff found narcotics while cleaning a hotel room.

Agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force recovered multiple bags weighing nearly 50 grams inside a coffee cup of crystal methamphetamine. Agents identified who the narcotics belonged to and obtained warrants on the suspects. Agents waited on the suspect to return to the hotel and 35-year-old Christopher Herron was taken into custody last night.

Herron was arrested on one count of trafficking methamphetamine. He is in the Tuscaloosa County jail pending a $100,000 bond.
