Tuscaloosa police announce enforcement of red light cameras
TUSCALOOA COUNTY - AL —
The Tuscaloosa police department have installed red light cameras at several locations.
Those locations include McFarland Boulevard and 37th Street East, McFarland Boulevard and Skyland Boulevard and I-359 and Skyland Boulevard. Those locations are in addition to the cameras already in place at 15th and 6th Avenue East. Additional locations are still being added.
On March 3, 2014, the system will be activated at the listed locations. Warning citations will be issued to any violator who runs a red light at a location where the cameras were placed. Warning citations will be mailed to the address of the owner of the vehicle.
On March 10, 2014, the system will begin issuing normal tickets to violators. The ticket will be mailed to the address of the owner of the vehicle and it is the responsibility of the owner to pay it. The fine for a red light violation is $110.00. When a person receives a notice of a violation in the mail, they can review it by logging onto www.viewcitation.com and enter the citation number and a PIN number that will be provided on the ticket. This will allow the person to watch a video of the violation. All instructions for paying the fine will be on the ticket.
