Tuscaloosa Police arrests 74 suspects in drug task force roundup

Sgt. Brent Blankley reports that a total of 74 suspects have been arrested on 183 various drug charges on Tuesday in a West Alabama Narcotics Task Force roundup.

The Task Force with assistance from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Northport Police Department, The University of Alabama Police Department, US Marshal Task Force, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office have been executing drug related search warrants and arresting individuals with arrest warrants since 4:00 a.m. this morning. The warrants were obtained after a 2-month long narcotics investigation.

A total of 61 University of Alabama students were arrested in the roundup with the majority of them being charged with marijuana-related offenses.
