Tuscaloosa Police investigating homicide; victim believed to be 70-year-old woman


A memorial service has been planned for Kate Ragsdale this Saturday at 2pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa.

Sources say her body may be released to be laid to rest by this weekend.


A homicide investigation is currently underway in the Highlands neighborhood located off of University Boulevard East.{}Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steve Anderson says a woman believed to be in her 70s was found dead in her home Sunday. A neighbor contacted police around 5:00 Sunday evening. A mobile crime scene unit is set up along University Boulevard East and The Highlands, and is expected to stay there until the early morning hours as the crime scene is processed.Police have not identified the victim, pending notification of her next of kin.{}As of now, there are no arrests or suspects at this time.{}ABC 33/40 has a crew on the scene and will bring you the latest live from the scene after the Oscars.
