Tuscaloosa police: Missing girl reportedly spotted riding bicycle on Rice Mine Road Wednesday afternoon
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- A 13-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday was reportedly spotted Wednesday afternoon, but she was never located, Tuscaloosa police said today.
According to a release, a citizen called police after reportedly seeing the girl, Destiny Schaetzle, riding a bicycle on Rice Mine Road between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Officers canvassed the area but were never able to find Schaetzle, who was said to be wearing a dark helmet, a blue shirt and shorts.
Police said the teen was last seen near Broadway Pizzeria and Wood Village. Authorities are asking parents who a child that may have been wearing the aforementioned clothing while riding a bike Wednesday to contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department Juvenile Division at 205-248-4600 as they continue efforts to find Schaetzle and validate all possible leads.
