Tuscaloosa police officer indicted in civil rights case

{} {} A former Tuscaloosa police officer has now been indicted for possible civil rights violations, {}in connection with the sexual assault of a woman.

{} {} The incident happened in 2011. {} A five count indictment{}filed in U.S. District Court charges Jason Glenn Thomas with violating the woman's constitutional rights.{}{}It also charges Thomas with obstruction of justice based on misleading statements he provided to law enforcement officers during the investigation.
