Tuscaloosa tornado victim to get new home from Habitat for Humanity
TUSCALOOSA - AL —
A Tuscaloosa woman, whose house had fallen into disrepair is getting a new home.Local dignitaries gathered at the site of the new home for Audrey Harris Monday for a ground breaking ceremony. Workers for Habitat for Humanity saw the conditions she was living-in and immediately made her a candidate.David Robertson, a pitcher for the New York Yankees was also there.His foundation will furnish the new home.Some students at the University of Alabama have organized a fundraiser called ''Raise the Roof for Audrey'". The money raised will help her pay-off her mortgage.
