Tuscaloosa teenager charged with assault

{}Tuscaloosa police have charged 18-year-old Antwan Marshall with assault following a shooting Wednesday night. The Northport Police department called and requested homicide on a shooting in Northgate Circle Apartments. Investigators say the victim, a 18-year-old male, was at Northport DCH with at least two gunshot wounds to both upper thighs. He is expected to recover. Northport police also had two people detained at the scene. The victim told investigators he was walking through the complex when he was approached by two male{} subjects who confronted him about remarks they had heard he was making. The victim says one of the male subjects pulled a gun from his waistband, he tried to gun it and that's when one of the men shot him in the leg. The victim then ran from the scene. Police took Marshall into custody and a 17-year-old male. Witnesses at the scene say they saw Marshall pull the gun and shoot, but never saw the other male subject with a gun. Investigators determined Marshall would be charged with assault. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County jail. The 17-year-old male has not been charged at this time.
