Twinkle Cavanaugh defeats Lucy Baxley for President of Public Service Commission

Republican Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh has defeated Democrat Lucy Baxley in the race for president of the Public Service Commission.

Cavanaugh tallied 54 percent of the votes with 96 percent of the precincts reporting.{} She earned a total of 1,034,007 votes to Baxley's 863,936 (46%).

With Cavanaugh's victory and Roy Moore's Chief Justice victory, the Republicans now have a stranglehold on Alabama's government.{} Baxley was the last of the Democrats to hold a state wide office.
