Arson likely to blame for 2 car fires at National Tire and Battery in east Birmingham

Birmingham Fire and Rescue is investigating a fire at National Tire and Battery on Gadsden Highway.They responded to call around 1:00 a.m.Two vehicles were on fire when they arrived on scene. One vehicle appeared to be a newer model BMW, the other was an older style Nissan. Investigators says the cause of the fires appears to be arson. They say both cars had to be set on fire separately. The shrubs near the cars were also burned, and there was smoke damage to the building.No one was injured.
