Two cyclists are critically injured after being hit by a car

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say two men received the critical injuries when they were hit by a car on Highway 31 in Morris Saturday morning. They were taken to the hospital.

Investigators say a 55 year old man and 48 year old man from Warrior were riding along Highway 31 around 6:30 a.m.. They say the car immediately behind the cyclists changed lanes abruptly to go around the men but the driver of the next car didn't see them in time. That driver hit the men from behind.

The driver of the car was not injured. Both cyclists were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
