Two juveniles arrested for burglaries
Just after 6:30 Tuesday evening deputies responded to the 200 block of 21st Avenue NE, Centerpoint to investigate a burglary. Deputies found a 17 year old being detained by the burglary victims. A second suspect involved had escaped. An address was obtained for the second suspect and deputies located a second 17 year old. He took deputies to a nearby wooded area and showed them a plastic bin containing stolen property including a gun taken in the burglary. Both teens also admitted involvement in a burglary that occurred the previous day and turned over a television that had been stolen in that case.
The two 17 year olds were charged with Burglary 3 degree and theft of property 2nd degree. They were placed in the custody of the Jefferson County Youth Detention Facility. Their names are being withheld because of their age.
They are suspected in other similar home burglaries in the area.
