Two men charged with November murder in Gadsden

Gadsden police say two men have been charged with capital murder for the November killing of Christopher Allen Johnson.

24-year-old Roger Dale Jordan and 30-year-old Robert Jacob Trotman both face capital murder and three counts of first-degree robbery charge.

Investigators say Jordan and Trotman went into Johnson's apartment in the 800 block of Chestnut Street on November 24, 2010.{} They came in through a backdoor and tied up two people inside, including Johnson's roommate.{}

Witnesses say the suspects were ransacking the apartment when Johnson and his brother-in-law came home.{} They were both told to get on the floor as well, and witnesses say Johnson was shot in the head when he looked up at one of the suspects.

The Gadsden Police Department says Jordan was later charged in connection with a home invasion and shoot-out in Oakleigh Estates on December 27.{} He is now in the Limestone Correctional Facility, serving a sentence for previous convictions.

Trotman was already being held in the Etowah County Jail on a probation violation when the capital murder charge was issued.
