Two men dead after dispute following car tow

Two men are dead following a dispute after a towed vehicle was being dropped off, according to Birmingham Police.

Sgt. Johnny Williams says two people arrived at a house around 1:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of 15th. He says a broken down vehicle was being towed to that location with permission from the vehicle's owner.

He says it is unclear what started the altercation between the tow truck driver and the owner of the car, but an exchange of gunfire took place.

The driver died on the scene. Williams says{}a second person inside the tow truck shot the owner, who was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not identified the victims and are still investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
