Two Texas A&M players arrested when found with marijuana
Texas A&M football players Isaiah Golden and Darian Claiborne were arrested over the weekend when police found marijuana near their parked vehicle.
Television station KHOU and The Eagle of Bryan-College Station newspaper report that authorities were investigating a vehicle that was illegally parked in a handicap space on Sunday night, when they detected the smell of marijuana.
An undisclosed amount of the drug was found in a Swisher Sweets pack on the ground outside the driver's side of the car. Golden admitted that the marijuana was his and was charged with possession. He was later released on $2,000 bond.
Claiborne was arrested for a noise violation after he would not stop carrying on that police were going to ruin his football career.
Two other passengers in the vehicle were not arrested including recent signee Speedy Noil according to The Eagle newspaper.
Golden played in 11 games and started six last season at defensive tackle.
Claiborne tied for the team lead with 89 tackles in 2013. The rising-sophomore linebacker was suspended for December's Chick Fil A Bowl after he was arrested for possession.
