Two victims of fatal car accident on I-65 South in Fultondale identified

A LifeSaver Helicopter arrived to the accident scene only to be turned away after the couple was pronounced dead.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety has released the names of the two victims involved in a fatal, single-car accident on I-65 South in Fultondale on Tuesday.

James Earl Robinson, 61, was the driver of the 1999 Lincoln Town Car that left the interstate, striking a sign-support pole in the median around mile marker 267.{} His passenger, Lois Coleman Robinson, 65, was also killed in the accident that happened at 5:40 p.m..{} Both victims were from Huntsville.

A LifeSaver helicopter was called to the scene as rescue workers attempted to free the victims from the mangled car, but the couple was pronounced dead on the scene.
