Two women charged with chemically endangering a child in East Alabama

Two Etowah County women have been arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child.{}

Tiffanie Angelia Mitchell, 23, of Gadsden, was arrested on May 6 and is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are produced or distributed.{}{}{}Breanna Latreace Wilson, 18, of Attalla, was arrested on the same charges four days earlier.

"It is simply unacceptable for an adult to endanger a child's life with their choice to use drugs," said{}Sheriff Todd Entrekin.{} "Let these cases be a warning to anyone who chooses to use drugs and endanger the life of an innocent child.{} You will be arrested and charged.{} You will be held responsible."

Wilson is out on bond, but{}Mitchell is still behind bars.{} She is being held on a{}$5,000 property bond.{}

Since 2011, only three cases of chemical endangerment have been reported to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office.{} One case is currently under investigation.
