UA enrollment reaches record high, freshmen bring high scores, GPAs

Enrollment at the University of Alabama reached a record high 34,852 students this fall, and it includes some of the nations most academically talented students.{} Total enrollment is up 3.7%, an increase of 1,250 students over fall 2012.


UA President, Judy Bonner, says "The University of Alabama is attracting students who stressful both inside and outside the classroom.{} Our incoming students are very well qualified.{} Many first-year students have already completed AP, International Baccalaureate or dual enrollment college courses, and we are pleased that they are choosing UA to pursue their goals."


More than 600 National Merit scholars are enrolled at UA, including 126 in the freshmen class.{} Students enrolled at UA this year are from all 50 states and 77 foreign countries.
