UA president addresses racial photo after sorority rush

The University of Alabama and{}President Judy Bonner is investigating another racial incident pertaining to Greek recruitment.

Just after traditional sorority rush wrapped up this weekend a member of Chi Omega posted a racially charged photo on Snap Chat Saturday afternoon.{} The photo included a{}"particularly offensive racial language" that seemed to celebrate the sorority did not recruit any african american women.{} However, reportedly the sorority did recruit two blacks.

ABC 33/40 has learned the student who posted the photo has been dismissed from the organization.

Dr. Bonner said the incident is "particularly reprehensible and do not represent the values or meet the expectations of our University community."

She says there will be "appropriate consequences once our investigation is completed.{} These consequences will be in addition to any sanctions Chi Omega's national officers decide to impose."

"I want to assure you the University of Alabama will not allow this incident to interrupt our progress.{} We will continue to work diligently and with a renewed commitment to make sure that UA is a welcoming and inclusive campus every day of the week."
