UAB Football Hopes To Break Up Marshall Block Party

UAB went nine weeks{}before it{}surrendered a blocked punt.

The Blazers special teams protection team may face it's biggest test in week 10.

"I've said earlier in the season that nobody really blocks punts because nobody really tries to block punts," UAB coach Garrick McGee said.{}"Marshall tries to block punts.

Marshall is tied for second among all FBS teams with six blocked kicks. Opponents failed to successfully block the Thundering Herd, so McGee hopes{}to mix in a dose of misdirection.{}

"You just have to try to keep them off balance," McGee said.{}"A fake or two will slow them down from going after every punt, and you just have to be really technique sound and know what's going on."

UAB hosts Marshall at Legion Field on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
