UAB students help prepare taxes for low income Alabamians
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
If you make less than $49,000/year, you can have your taxes done for free.
Students of the UAB School ofBusinesschapter of the NationalAssociation of Black Accountants will provide free tax preparation byappointment for those who qualify. If you are interested, call 888-421-1266 to schedule anappointment.
Appointment times are as follows:
- Feb.4, 2012 - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Feb.18, 2012 - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- March3, 2012 - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- March31, 2012 - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
TheUAB student volunteers will have workstations on UAB's campus in theBusiness-Engineering Complex computer labs, 1150 10th Ave. South. Aregistration desk will be located in the building's lobby.
This is the sixthyear the United Way of Central Alabama and UAB havepartnered on the Volunteer IncomeTax Assistanceprogram. VITA gives UAB student volunteers the opportunity to receivereal-world experience while providing a valuable service to the Birminghamcommunity.
